Medals At Swimming Championships

Tayside Swimming 2009

On Tuesday 10^th and Thursday 12^th of November 2009 the Glenalmond junior and senior swim teams took part in the annual Tayside Schools Swimming Championships. The junior team did remarkably well on the Tuesday collecting a total of 10 medals. The girls' junior relay team swam out of their socks to receive a bronze medal and the boys collected silver for their freestyle relay. Following this both our junior boys, Fergus Izat and Mathew Oliver won Gold and Silver places in the 100m freestyle.

Our winning streak did not stop there; the senior team had a lot to live up to on the Thursday and they didn't let us down! The girls' freestyle relay team collected bronze medals and both Will Sanderson and Michael Bodie received bronze medals for their events. Considering the level of competition at the event, with many club and national swimmers, I am deeply impressed with how the team performed. It is by far the best result the school has achieved with swimming and shows the level of dedication and commitment of the pupils.
