Boys Bothy Tour

Boys on Tour, written by Glenalmond College pupils

I really enjoyed the Land Rover ride to the Bothy. When I arrived, I walked in and it was freezing cold. First I went down to the river and made a dam with Alex. Round about six o'clock we had Army food which was quite nice, then we got into our sleeping-bags. I did not get any sleep because it was so cold, but I didn't really care because I really enjoyed it. By Harry Hartley-Metcalfe (S)

Going to the Bothy was such fun and I very much enjoyed the ride up in the land rover and seeing the deer. I thought playing in the river was cool but the army packs weren't that tasty. The night was very different. The morning was great when we did tree climbing and golfing followed by very tasty food at the hotel. By Alexander Wainwright (S)

Originally all of the 2nd form were going to be walking to the Bothy but in the end things worked out a bit differently; Mr Nichols ended up with a bad back and so could not walk for hours.

We left school on Saturday after morning lessons; the bus took about an hour to Aberfeldy. From there, we got a lift in a Land Rover most of the way to the Bothy. The Land Rover ride was great!

When we got to the Bothy we unpacked and then went down to the river and built a dam. At about seven o'clock we had supper, which was army ration packs. I'm not going to lie: they don't taste nice!

The next day we went back to Aberfeldy and did tree climbing and putting. We also had lunch there.
