Fifth form parents' meeting Feb09 (Link to downloadable .pdf file)

The Sixth Form Curriculum at Glenalmond is based solely on the A-level examination system. In the first year of the sixth form, the pupils are expected to study four AS levels (8 periods per week per subject) with the majority of courses being examined in June of this year, although some departments enter candidates for January modules. In the second year, pupils normally continue with three A2 subjects with examinations taken in January and June. From September 2008, the design of A-level syllabuses is changing resulting in the reduction from six to four modules in all subjects apart from Mathematics and the three sciences. Also, the Music department is trialling the Cambridge Pre-U which is a linear course with examinations taken after the end of the two years.

Further details of all courses can be found in the 2010 Guide to the Sixth Form
