Two major school productions are staged each year together with a variety of smaller scale events including a House Drama Festival.

These present opportunities for involvement in backstage work, lighting and props as well as the drama itself.

Glenalmond performs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival every two years. Recent shows have included "Amadeus" by Peter Shaffer, "Our Country's Good" by Timberlake Wertenbaker, "A Single Numberless Death" by Bob Mayberry and "Fame Game" a new musical composed by Graham Robb (staff member of the Music Department) and premiered at the Festival. In recent years pupils have been selected for the Scottish Youth Theatre and the National Youth Theatre in London. Both involve attending an intensive five week rehearsal and performance period during the summer holidays.
