Lothian 1990-1992
My parents' wish for me was to have a good education and they chose Glenalmond for me. I travelled there from Hong Kong - my home - when I was 16 years of age. My initial reaction at being separated from my family and home was not good.
However, Glenalmond was a beautiful place in Scotland which provided me with a quiet and peaceful environment so essential to promote my studies. More than that, I received encouragement to act independently and further develop my sense of adventure: climbing, sailing, scuba diving, learning to fly - so many activities which also helped develop my self-confidence and self esteem. I quickly adjusted to my new environment, made new friends and became engrossed in all Glenalmond had to offer.
After completing my schooling I studied at and graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London, returning then to HK to take up a position as an equine vet. I have since completed Veterinary examinations in both America and Australia. After much overseas working experience, and a great variety of travel, from hiking in the Australian desert, climbing to base camp at Everest, skiing in Japan, walking in Africa, I decided to return to Hong Kong in 2006 to set up my own practice Pet Cares Professions Veterinary Services (http://www.petcares.hk/eng/services.html.) which I have been successfully running in Tai Po since 2007. I travel to Asia each year to undertake volunteer work - de-sexing animals in an endeavour to control the feral population of street cats and dogs.
