A leading boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 12-18 in Perthshire, Scotland
One of Glenalmond College's many attributes is its ability to provide pupils with an experience that goes beyond the purely academic. As many OGs (former Glenalmond pupils) will testify, it is the extra-curricular life beyond the classrooms at Glenalmond that proves to be so valuable, memorable and enriching and gives rise to success in their subsequent careers.
As well as a huge range of sports, our wonderful countryside setting allows us to offer an impressive programme of outdoor/adventure pursuits. Pupils can climb Scotland's famous Munros and kayak on lochs, all with expert tuition. International sporting tours and expeditions provide cultural experiences as well as physical and mental challenge.
We have one of the highest success rates in the UK for completion of Gold and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards, many of our pupils join the Combined Cadet Force and our pipe bands and there are music and drama productions to inspire those who are more artistic.
Each year a group of Fifth Formers walk the 100 miles back to Glenalmond from the north of Scotland, to raise money for charity. Details of the 100 Mile Walk are here.
We nurture many skills in our young adults - motivation, perseverance, adaptability, creativity and the ability to communicate are all required in a successful life.
Life at Glenalmond however, is not solely about acquiring a range of abilities, it is also (unashamedly) centred on fun, being excited by challenges and having the confidence to respond.
