International Club

The International Club has two purposes: on the one hand it exists to help overseas pupils integrate into the school and develop their understanding of British culture; on the other, it views international pupils as an asset, whose cultural diversity enriches the life of the whole community.

"Cultural exchange" takes place at our weekly meetings, but there are frequent trips to foreign films and, from time to time, excursions to local places of interest, most recently to Glasgow, Stirling Castle, and the Crannog at Loch Tay - wherever we go, cream tea seems to find as much favour with our overseas members as it does with our home grown pupils.

Here are some comments from some of the international club members:

"I enjoyed going to the international club because it was funny, interesting and useful at the same time."
Manuel, Austria

"A welcoming place, it helped me to be aware of the world's different cultures."

"The international club is a really good place where I relax, talk to people from different countries, discuss any political or financial problems, and visit wonderful places in Scotland. I enjoy it very much, thank you all."
Ivan, Ukraine

"It's a good place to meet people from all over the world and to learn about different cultures and exchange information."
Alistair, Germany
