The Opera Club was founded in the 1960s by Ken Murray, a tremendous enthusiast, to take pupils to Scottish Opera at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow, and very little has changed since then, although we now to tend to go more often to the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh.
Pupils today continue to be inspired by their early experiences of opera, which is not surprising in view of the string of wonderful productions the company has put on in recent years.
These days we also attend the annual productions of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly RSAMD), as well as occasional performances by visiting companies.
