Pipe Band

Highland Bagpipes and Highland Drumming are all taught as individual lessons, with a total of 70 pupils receiving instruction from world class instructors.

There are two Pipe Bands, both of which compete in external school competitions with pipers regularly featuring in the prize lists. The 'A' band wears full ceremonial dress whilst the 'B' band wears day dress. The bands perform at various venues throughout the UK as well as going on tour. Recent events include playing at Edinburgh Castle, playing at Lords cricket ground as well as performing in front of Prince Edward as part of the Perth 800 celebrations.

Further afield, the band has played at the Festival Interceltique in Lorient, Brittany as well as at the Range of Lakes Festival in Lithuania and also returning to play at a British Council sponsored Burns Supper in Vilnius, Lithuania. The team of instructors is led by Brian Elrick ably assisted by fellow pipers Gordon Campbell and Jim Stout with Gordon Brown in charge of the drum corps assisted by Sian Mailer.
