Athletics at Glenalmond College

The disciplines of running, throwing and jumping are fundamental to many sports and therefore all pupils are encouraged to develop their ability through participation and competition in athletics. Glenalmond hosts two athletics meetings and is invited to compete in three others in the first half of the Trinity Term. All pupils are given the opportunity to contribute to the House effort in the Athletics Sports Day and top performers are entered for the Scottish Athletics Championships at Grangemouth.

Results

May 3rd at Pitreavie: v Strathallan and Fettes

Unfortunately we have been hindered by the weather and have
spent minimum time on specific events. We have however
managed to do a lot of interval training in order to keep general
fitness levels up.

A lovely afternoon out was had by all whilst competing at
Pitreavie on a rare sunny afternoon.

All the athletes competed well with due consideration of the
lack of training of their their events.
