Glenalmond participates in the Scottish Independent Schools' Football Association Cup during the Lent Term. In addition to the six regular fixtures against other schools in the northern section of this competition, friendly fixtures are also arranged.
Some 2nd XI and U15 fixtures are also played for development purposes. Football is available on games afternoons during the first two terms without taking priority over pupils' other representative activities. The College enjoys a strong and positive link with St Johnstone FC where top coaches and players have visited the College to both train and assist with coaching.
is offered in all three terms as an alternative to the major sports. In 2006 we became involved for the first year in the Scottish Independent Schools' Football Association League for Girls, which has given us regular fixtures against five other independent schools, and in our first season we won the league!
Coaching and training for girls is offered from the Second Form to the Upper Sixth.
