All four newcomers to the Sailing Club enjoyed the sunshine and the F3 breeze during a round-the-cans race., with James Raeburn taking the win. Joss Gillespie was promoted to second place as Rudge and Jean were both disqualified for not rounding the leeward mark! Given that Joss spent a fair amount of time aground just after the start he was very pleased to have opened his account with a place result!
We have been blessed with great sailing weather so far this term which always means that Loch Earn has a magical beauty about it and it is a real treat to sail there. Nonetheless, the water is seriously cold!
So far we have had righting drill, newcomer assessments, boat "fettling" and a review of close reach sailing in the four sessions available to us.
