Gary Brown of Mavisbank Taxis

In recognition of many years service to Glenalmond, Gary Brown of Mavisbank Taxis was presented with a Friends of Glenalmond tie by the staff at a recent gathering. In making the presentation Senior Tutor, Robert Gower, said 'You might expect the College driver to be an AA man.

But Gary Brown is more than that, as his passengers will confirm. His AAA philosophy (Attitude + Aptitude = Altitude) puts him in the fast lane of communication with the teenage mind. Here is a friend and confidant, an impartial advisor, a model of hard work in the pursuit of excellence. Gary's immaculately turned-out vehicle, meticulous attention when behind the wheel and polished personal appearance, complete with ready smile (even at 5 am!) mark him out as one who is truly special. Glenalmond could not wish for a more passionate supporter and ambassador.'

Gary responded 'Viewing from a distance can result in a distorted picture, but throughout my 18 years "in Glenalmond's driving seat" I have witnessed at first hand the tireless work and effort of both staff and students, shared in some of their trials and tribulations and have also taken pride in observing individual progress along the pathway leading to that degree of confidence and personal achievement which marks out "the finished product". I feel so fortunate to enjoy this working partnership with the College.'
