The HMIe Inspection Report – a note from the Warden

The HMIe Inspection of Glenalmond took place in October 2009 and we are delighted with the resulting report which highlights the real strengths of the College in terms of academic achievements and outstanding pastoral care. We are particularly delighted that the Inspectors recognised our recent progress and improvement as "sector leading". The report also highlights not only the huge range of opportunities available to pupils at Glenalmond, but also the high levels of success and achievement by the pupils as well as the quality of relationships between pupils and between staff and pupils.

The clarity of our curriculum is matched by the school's high expectations and vision based on a "strong sense of values and tradition". Our pupils, whilst being confident and articulate, also make an outstanding contribution to the school, local and wider communities; indeed the school Prefects are singled out for their contribution to the life of the school.

We are justifiably proud of this report on the College, but we are not complacent and we are already working on areas for improvement, inspired and encouraged by all that the Inspectors had to say.
