Matheson's Kick for Jack

Matheson's House recently ran a successful charity event "Kick for Jack". Two-year-old Jack McNaughton (pictured with Matheson's boys), from Almondbank, suffers from cerebral palsy and is unable to move his lower limbs. Health experts claim he would benefit from a placement at the Craighalbert Centre in Cumbernauld which would enable him to walk, but Jack needs funding. The boys in Matheson's were inspired by little Jack's story and invited various Glenalmond celebrities to kick a conversion for sponsorship in front of an audience. Those involved in the kicking were the Warden, various teachers, our matron (Mrs Maguire) and a number of boys (and some girls, bullied into it on the day!) The whole spectacle was witnessed by a rather bemused Jack and his parents! As the Warden commented (after a successful kick), it was great fun, and not perhaps as easy as it looks.

The final total raised was £752.00 which represents an amazing 10 days at the centre for Jack.

Our thanks go to everyone who helped in their various ways getting sponsors, home baking, humiliating themselves in front of a packed Neish's stand, and particularly to the generosity of everyone who contributed.
