The rifle club has been in existence for many years and numbers among its members several current International shots and a much larger body of former Internationals. It is approved by the Home Office and is affiliated to the National Rifle Association and the Scottish Rifle Association.

Target rifle shooting is one of very few sports in which men and women compete on equal terms. Furthermore, it is a sport in which youth and age is no bar to competition or team selection.

For anyone leaving Coll intending to maintain an interest in full- or small-bore target rifle shooting, membership of the OG Rifle Club is strongly recommended. Annual membership currently costs £7, paid by Bankers Order. Life Membership is obtained by a one-off payment of £100.

The club organises the following shoots each year:

  • Winter Small-bore match V Coll at Glenalmond.
  • Spring Full-bore individual competitions at Blair Atholl and Bisley.
  • May Full-bore match V Coll at Blair Atholl.
  • Summer Full-bore team matches at Bisley.
  • July Public Schools Veterans match at Bisley (usually three teams of five shooters).
  • July Imperial Meeting at Bisley.
  • Autumn Full-bore individual competitions at Blair Atholl and Bisley (Club Championship held at these venues in alternate years).<>
