The HMIe Inspection Report – a note from the Warden
The HMIe Inspection of Glenalmond took place in October 2009 and we are delighted with the resulting report which highlights the real strengths of the College in terms of academic achievements and outstanding pastoral care. We are particularly delighted that the Inspectors recognised our recent progress and improvement as "sector leading". The report also highlights not only the huge range of opportunities available to pupils at Glenalmond, but also the high levels of success and achievement by the pupils as well as the quality of relationships between pupils and between staff and pupils.
The clarity of our curriculum is matched by the school's high expectations and vision based on a "strong sense of values and tradition". Our pupils, whilst being confident and articulate, also make an outstanding contribution to the school, local and wider communities; indeed the school Prefects are singled out for their contribution to the life of the school.
We are justifiably proud of this report on the College, but we are not complacent and we are already working on areas for improvement, inspired and encouraged by all that the Inspectors had to say.

Alumni Montium - Sixty years of Glenalmond and its people
Alumni Montium ('children of the mountains) takes its title from the opening lines of the Glenalmond Carmen: Adeste, quotquot estis,/Alumni Montium. The sixty years from 1948 to 2008 have witnessed great changes in the College, from quasi-monastic seclusion to full co-education. It is the story of a community adapting to developments in the outside world, yet preserving its essential character.

Carly Booth awarded first Glenalmond Golf Scholarship
Scottish golfing prodigy Carly Booth (age 17) is the first recipient of a Golf Scholarship for 6th form entry to Glenalmond College.The scholarship is funded by the Old Glenalmond Golfing Society (OGGS) and was launched as part of their 75th anniversary celebrations.The scholarship will enable Carly, and future generations of talented youngsters, to complete their secondary education at the 160 year old boarding and day school.
As many OGs know the Cairnies 9 hole course, designed by James Braid, and completed in 1920, is one of the country's finest school golf courses. More Golf Scholarship news
