| This has already been a fantastic start to the new year and it bodes well for a highly successful 2012 in Lothian House. | |||
Our Common Room gets a new look!On a free Sunday afternoon, Miss Kitchin, Joanna, Laura and Anna T painted one wall of the Lothian Common Room purple. Framed photos of lots of Lothianites now decorate this wall. On another wall are GCSE paintings by Lothian girls, for example the two below. All in all our new spruced up common room looks very bright and stylish and we're all very pleased with it! |

The Annual Steeplechasewas a part of a fantastic end to the first half of term. It a new location, this year everyone ran around the Golf Course which was a spectacular sight. Our very own Head of House, Olivia drew in first place after an extremely exciting sprint finish. It was great to see everyone entering in the spirit of the event and Miss Bircher, Head of Girls Games was delighted with the effort and determination shown on the day. An all-round emotional day with the 2nd form completing their first ever event and the U6th working hard in their last ever Glenalmond Steeplechase! |

University offersHuge congratulations to all the Upper Sixth who have been rewarded with so many UCAS offers. It has been an intense few weeks with girls heading off to the four corners of the country for interviews or auditions and it has certainly paid off. Particular congratulations go to Wisha who has been offered a place at Cambridge! We are just waiting frantically for the last few to come in and then it is just a matter of those A2 results! | |||

Glenalmond's Got Musical TalentJust before half term began, we all enjoyed a wonderful night of musical talent, showing off just what each house can do. Lothian's entry was superb with an instrumental of Yesterday by The Beatles followed by the incredibly talented Meta singing Turning Tables by Adele. The backing group consisted of Heather on violin, who also arranged the piece, Tori on Harp, Olivia on Cello, Jess & Cat on oboe, Rosie on flute and Beatrice & Bella on violin. We were rewarded with an impressive 3rd place, which was great given the incredible variety and talent on show. |

September 14th, 2011 A superb start to the year! It was wonderful to see all the new faces arriving at the house, excited but nervous too! They have made an impressive start, making friends and getting to grips with the new routine. After getting new timetables and subject choices sorted, it was down to business and the year certainly started with a bang. It was great news all round as Emma Sanderson was voted in as Captain of Hockey with Alice Onslow as Vice-Captain. Then Charlotte Houldsworth was chosen as one of the players of the match following the hockey fixture against a visiting team from St John's School, Concepcion, Chile. |

The highlight so far has to be the House Outing, this year to EICA at Ratho. The Aerial Assault course was a real hit and almost everyone braved flying through the air on a harness before tackling the tricky course right above the climbing arena. Everyone then either abseiled down the building, waving at the people in the Cafe or they tried to scale the climbing walls. It was at times scary but everyone came away feeling very proud of themselves for tackling their fears. Now the term begins in earnest and after a wonderful weekend of making new friends and growing in confidence, it promises to be a really exciting time! |
