On our first visit to Patchell's my wife and I were hugely impressed with the close knit community that is evident within the House. It is obvious that the House has an understanding of certain core values; kindness and good manners, tolerance of each other, respect for the environment, support for House plays, music, and sport, and a willingness from the pupils to do their best. These are traits that Rebecca and I are keen to develop and maintain, alongside creating an environment within the House where pupils can live together, whatever their interests, nationality or outlook on School life. We feel that it will be particularly important to create an atmosphere in which all can feel at ease whilst being encouraged to seek improvement.

We have recently moved to 'Coll' from Blundell's School in Devon and have been struck by the warmth of what is obviously a special community. I teach Physical Education at Glenalmond and coach the 1st XV. Rebecca (a primary school teacher) and I have two boys; Iwan, seven and Rhys, five, who both thoroughly enjoy playing a part in Patchell's.
We are very fortunate to have taken over a House full of identity, spirit and talent. Patchell's is a thriving community with an experienced team of tutors who play an active and committed role in the day to day life of the pupils. We hope that you enjoy keeping up to date with all that goes on in a busy boarding house through this web page.

The latest Patchells Newsletter T2010, uploaded May 18th
It is often said of 'Patchellians' that they are a thoroughly active group of young men and hopefully the linked news letters below will act as testament to this fact. Patchell's is a wonderfully busy boarding house with much to be proud of! The most striking feature for us has been the spirit and enthusiastic approach to life that is evident throughout the House. The news letters below will give you a flavour of what has been going on in Patchell's and will serve to show the breadth and variety of activities undertaken by Patchellians. Huge thanks to Robin Holliday (L6th) for his time and effort in producing these pages.
