We open up challenges to be overcome and skills to be learnt.
We are fortunate to have excellent facilities: a 9-hole (18-tee) golf course, squash courts, a climbing wall and extensive pitches; a sports complex with a gymnasium, a sports hall and a 25m swimming pool; and two floodlit, all-weather pitches are used as full-size hockey pitches in the Autumn and Spring, and as 18 tennis courts in the Summer. Few schools can match the range and quality of sporting participation that we offer; from lacrosse to athletics, basketball, fencing and cross-country, the option is there.
We also make the most of our natural surroundings - we sail on Loch Earn, canoe on the River Tay and climb on the local crags. The Third Form is given a solid grounding in outdoor skills; they learn navigation, camp craft, first-aid and mountain safety, culminating in a week-long camp and expedition. The Combined Cadet Force thrives, while on Sundays the Munro Club sets out to the hills. Participation in the Three Peaks sailing and hill-running race, charity marathons, orienteering, and snow-holing are all challenges eagerly accepted by our pupils.
