The Chaplain and House staff are readily available to listen to the day to day concerns students may have, and sometimes a listening ear is all that is required. Specialist support is also on hand if needed;
Mary Pitkin is Glenalmond's Human Givens Counsellor and Therapist offering practical help to those in need. She is qualified to help with a number of problems including depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem, anxiety, stress, anger problems and other issues that can affect us at different stages in our lives.
Every pupil at Glenalmond is part of a House-based tutor group and will see their Tutor three times every week. The role of the Academic Tutor is to have an overview of each pupil's academic performance and to support their progress.
Tutors make time to get to know their tutees as individuals in social as well as academic contexts and will often arrange tutor group outings which can be anything from paint balling to a meal in a local restaurant.
