House Staff

The eight houses play an important role in life at Glenalmond, both for boarders and for day pupils.  Each house has a housemaster or housemistress, who live in or next to the boarding house with their own family.

The housestaff are responsible for the academic and pastoral care of the pupils in their house, and are the primary link with parents. They work with other staff within the school, and with the pupils themselves, to make sure that every pupil gains the most from their time at Glenalmond, both academically and in terms of personal growth and development.

Each housemaster or housemistress is helped by a team of tutors in the house, each of whom works with a smaller number of pupils and meets with them on a regular basis throughout the week.
