Day and Boarding School Fees

As part of our commitment to widening educational opportunities Glenalmond offers financial assistance according to circumstance. For more information on the help that is available, please see the Financial Assistance and Scholarships pages.

Glenalmond College fees are set annually to reflect the level of investment deemed necessary in order to maintain the excellent standards expected.

A warm, safe and hard-working environment granting children many opportunities to develop into well-rounded adults and where the children seem very happy. Current parent

Our school fees are as inclusive as possible, and cover all of the teaching, accommodation and living costs. They also cover the charges that are common to all pupils, such as the expenses of games, activities,  membership of the CCF, use of the library, initial stationery pack, laundy and sewing. We are aware that some families will need help with school fees and more information is available on the Bursaries and Financial Assistance page.

*Pupils moving up to the Fifth and Sixth Form will continue to pay the normal Senior Boarding rate of £10,743 per term.

These nights will be specifically:

  • Mondays for orchestra and Fridays for Choir Practice provided that the pupil concerned then comes in on the Sunday to sing in Chapel.
  • The first Saturday of the Michaelmas term to attend the social function after which it is expected that all Day Pupils will attend Chapel the following morning.
  • Occasional whole school events where it is decided that Day Pupils should attend. N.B. These can only be authorised by the Warden and normally the situation will be dealt with by running the buses late rather than by asking pupils to stay in (e.g. Christmas Dinner).
  • Bad weather when the Bursar (Facilities & Estates) decides that the buses should not run and pupils are otherwise unable to get home. (During the months when snow is likely day pupils are asked to leave an overnight bag in their House in case it is needed).
  • Day pupil House and College Prefects who are on duty.

  • Wednesday evenings. Prep ends at 9.00pm; the buses will run at that time but pupils wishing to stay will be charged at £20.00 per night
  • Up to four further nights per term for whatever reason.
  • Any pupil representing the school who returns after the day pupil buses have left.

  • Up to a further 15 nights per term for whatever reason.

Pupils wishing to stay beyond this quota must become boarders. Day pupil overnighting is subject to available space and cannot always be guaranteed. These charges will be invoiced at the end of each term.

The changes include a significant reduction in the Third Form fee, so that the Junior Day fee remains at the same level throughout Second and Third Form.  For 2016, this fee is £5,490 per term.

In addition, our Senior Day fee will be frozen at the 2016 level (£7,318 per term) for 2017.
