Clubs and Societies
There are numerous clubs & societies at Glenalmond which allow our boys and girls to pursue their existing interests and hobbies as well as developing new ones.
Whether they have a healthy interest in human rights, conservation, music or culture, there is a group for everyone to take part in including those with a more academic focus.
Lectures on general themes take place in the Michaelmas and Lent terms, usually on Tuesday or Thursday evenings, directly after supper. Juniors (Fifth Form and below) generally have two lectures a term, the Sixth Form three or four. In a busy timetable it is better to have a few memorable ones than a routine lecture every week. Recent lectures have been by:
Syd Littleford, Vigneron; Susie Swift, Accountant; Richard O'Connor, Entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Chocolate & Love; John Gillespie, Hair Salon Owner; Ross Appleyard, TV Journalist; John Rankin, Diplomat; David Sibbald, Architect; and Lord Kingarth QC.
