We believe in the value of sport for both a healthy lifestyle and for teaching leadership and team building skills.
As can be seen from the wide choice of sports offered, sporting activity is an integral part of life at Glenalmond, where excellent facilities and a passionate team of coaches come together to encourage pupils to reach their sporting potential. We take great pride in Glenalmond's long tradition of sporting excellence. Our teams have won many a trophy, while several OGs (former pupils) have gone on to gain national and international honours. Furthermore, many current pupils represent Scotland and their home countries across a variety of sporting platforms.
With a team of exceptional head coaches developing the quality of an enthusiastic coaching staff, we encourage our pupils to reach their potential at whatever level of sport they play.
Rugby (boys) and hockey (girls) are the major sports played in the Michaelmas Term and boys' hockey and lacrosse and netball for girls dominate the Lent Term programme. In the summer there is an extensive cricket programme for boys whilst the girls focus on tennis and rounders. A wide variety of other sports are offered at both representative and recreational level.
