Tennis

Tennis is the major sport for girls and a minor sport for boys in the Trinity Term.

With 18 astroturf courts and two newly refurbished hard courts, it is an extremely popular sport.

Junior girls (Second, Third and Fourth Form) train three times a week with six teams competing in inter school fixtures on Saturdays.

Seniors choose tennis as their games option and four teams regularly compete on Saturdays.

The tennis courts are often found to be overflowing with pupils out of 'sports time' in the summer months which is testament to how much Glenalmond pupils enjoy the game.

Glenlamond are delighted to have the professional coaching services of Daniel Alexander Reed who visits the school twice a week to coach those who wish to have extra lessons (at an additional cost) and provides both group and one to one coaching at our courts.

Daniel Alexander Reed

Daniel Alexander Reed gained his coaching experience through working at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton London, alongside former British Number One Annabel Croft and some of the UK's most renowned coaches assisting with Junior County and recreational players. Daniel understands how to nurture talent and ensure that all children have the opportunity to play tennis whether at a competitive or non-competitive level.

"For me, it's about nurturing grass route tennis and not neglecting the less abled and slow developers in the game. I like the challenge of fast tracking players to competitive level, whilst also overseeing the performance route of players that compete at higher levels. I believe my sessions to be stimulating, rewarding and always delivered with high energy, accompanied with bundles of passion".
