ESU Mace National Debating Competition

Glenalmond hosted the first round of the debating competition on a wet and wild Halloween night

Four schools argued the motion 'This House believes that languages that require protection aren't worth protecting'.

All teams spoke well, ad the standard across both debates was very high indeed, as the External Judges from the ESU noted in their feedback.

Noah K And Anthony M EDIT

Noah K and Anthony M, our two Captains of Debating acquitted themselves brilliantly against a very strong and experienced Perth High side. It was a really excellent performance, and they handled Points of Information and questions from the floor with aplomb.

The two best teams of the four go through to the next round, and Glenalmond and Perth High made the cut, narrowly beating strong sides from Strathallan and TCS Auchterarder. Congratulations to Noah and Athony, and we look forward to seeing even greater success as the Debating season progresses.
