Scottish Rugby’s BT Sports Academy player, Kaleem B took part in the inaugural “Peck Hunter” programme as part of a partnership between the Royal Marines and Scottish Rugby.
The Programme was named after Corporal Thomas Peck Hunter VC and aims to develop the Rugby players’ Commando Mindset, focussing on personal responsibility and leadership.
Kaleem B (Goodacre's) was put through his paces with a strenuous, amphibious two-day regime which encompassed military swimming circuits, battle training, operational planning exercises and also an amphibious exercises on Loch Lomond - all under the watching eyes of the Royal Marines from 43 Commando.
The aim of the programme is to develop personal responsibility which is very important for those participating in high-level sport, working the players both mentally and physically.
We look forward to speaking to Kaleem after the Easter break to hear what he has to say about his time with the Royal Marines!
