Pupils Play in Scottish Hockey Competition

Annual Notts Sport Inter-District event

Last week saw the Annual Notts Sport Inter-Distric Boys Hockey event take place at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre and Glenalmond was not without represention! Four talented Glenalmond hockey players featured in the championships, three in the U18 and one in the U16 squad.

Under 18 Events:

John S, (Skrine's) Rory H (Reid's) and Roddy M (Patchell's) all made selection for the Midland U18 team last weekend. They all performed extremely well throughout the weekend but it was the East district who went home champions.

However, we are very proud to say that John S was awared BYTE most Valuable Player  - a fantastic reward for all his hard work.

2-1 - win vs highland 
3-1 - loss vs west 
Midland District U18 Players
Under 16 Events:

Archie M.P (Skrine's) was selected for the U16 Midland team last weekend, performing to a very high standard throughout the matches. Unfortunately, it was the East's weekend and they took home the U16 title too.

7-0 loss vs east 
4-3 win vs highland 
3-1 win vs north 

Next weekend see's the Notts Sport Inter-District Girls Hockey event and Glenalmond will once again be fielding players. Susannah G-F (Home) and India F (Lothian) have made selection for the Midland U18 team, while Katherine W will be playing in the U16 team.

 

As part of Scottish Hockey, each district (North, East, West, Highland, Midland and South) enters a boys team and a girls team at U14, U16, and U18 age-levels to the Notts Sport Inter-District events.

These events are watched by Scotland’s performance coaches who are on the look out for the next wave of young talent who can be developed on the performance pathway working towards full senior international level.
