Glenalmond's 1st XI Hockey Team

Senior Boys 1st XI Hockey Team grows from strength to strength.....

1st XI Boys Hockey Scottish Schools Plate Final

It's been an excellent season for the senior boys 1st XI team, we set out at the start of the session to win 90% of games and win the plate final which we have now achieved, a grand total of 38 goals scored and 9 victories out of the 11 games that we played from Jan to April.

Friday night's final was the icing on the cake for the College - Douglas academy played a great game, having a number of National and development players in their squad offered a highly competitive game. Full credit to the opposition, they played with desire and conviction, testing our defence and Charlie H (GK) during a highly charged 60 minutes of play.

Glenalmond started the game really well with 14 circle penetrations and 9 shots on goal within the first 18 minutes of play the Douglas academy GK and defence making it very difficult for the college strikers.

Goals from Lewis G and Ruairidh G in the first half secured the team to go into half time with a 2-1 lead. We started the second half much better, reducing the high number of turnovers and playing with a better rhythm and more fluent style to which we have been accustomed to over the last 10 games of play. Some creative skills from Ted L and John S with another 2 goals completed the 4 -2 victory.

A fantastic team effort - special mention to Alistair S who was voted the college's player of the match.
