Two Glenalmond boys in the national indoor hockey championship final

It was a brilliant achievement having Glenalmond players in both Midland teams playing in the championship final.

Both John S and Jack C played in the Scottish U18 National finals on Sunday, John playing for Perthshire and Jack playing for Grove Menzieshill and in the final against each other. John received a bad cut in the morning but attended PRI and got stitched up and played in all the remaining section games leading to the semi and final!

It was then time for the final and the question of whether holders Grove Menzieshill could retain their title, or if rivals Perthshire could take it from them. Both teams had chances early on but were unable to break the deadlock. The first goal of the match came from a penalty corner to give Perthshire the lead. Right on half time Grove Menzieshill levelled with a penalty corner. After the break Grove netted a further two strikes to increase their lead. Perthshire fought back into the game with a goal from John S but in the end Grove Menzieshill retained their title with a superb 4-2 win.
