"Whose Face at the Window?" by Alison Haylock

Junior Entry’s play for Commem 2008 traces the story of the mysterious Grey Lady of Glenalmond, who haunts the quad and has been seen occasionally for more than a hundred years by pupils and staff. In the present day her activities are causing chaos as books fly about, candles blow out and the chilling cold of the grave descends upon all whom she passes.

We follow the tale as it unfolds in the quad, the library, the cloisters and chapel, reaching its climax in the theatre where we learn the history of an act of shameful dishonour and betrayal, and the secret of The Grey Lady.
