New Memorial Plaque

In this season of remembrance, a new memorial plaque has been placed in our Chapel for the OGs who have died serving in the Armed Forces since 1945.


Destination Scotland. Be a boarder north of the border.

It's all aboard for a Scottish boarding school. The Spring edition of the Boarding Schools' Association magazine has a feature on life as a boarder in Scotland and features Glenalmond being set in "300 acres of glorious rolling Perthshire countryside..."


OGs in Norway ski challenge for charity

Adam Dudgeon (Goodacre’s 04-09) and Gareth Davies (Patchell’s 04-09) skied in the brutal Birkebeiner cross country ski race (54km) in Norway last weekend, raising funds for the legendary ex-Scottish rugby player Doddie Weir and his charity, dedicated to researching the causes and investigating potential cures of Motor Neurone Disease.


Whole School Steeplechase

Amazing day to have virtually the whole school out together on the school golf course for the annual Glenlamond Steeplechase. The day showed that sport can bring everyone together, no matter how fast or slow you run, everyone was cheered the whole way round and through the finish line, whatever their position.


BT Sport Academy Finals

Scotland's top young rugby talent, including players from Glenalmond, went head-to-head at the home of Scottish Rugby on Sunday 13 August at the BT Sport Academy Finals Day.


Sir Christopher Geidt

The recent news of Prince Philip’s retirement was delivered to Palace staff by the former Scots Guard, and now much-trusted Private Secretary to the Queen, OG Sir Christopher Geidt.


OG cricket match

OG XI v Glenalmond 1st XI, Sunday 30th April 2017 A chilly spring day greeted the OG team to their old stomping ground at Glenalmond, a team this year comprising a mixture of youth, skill, cricketing experience and humour. This has sometimes been a rarity in years gone by, partly down to the various humiliations on the field that have gone before.


Rising stars in the hockey world

John S and Susannah GF played against Wales during the Easter school holidays. Hockey coach David Stott is delighted to see how well both players are developing their skills and playing at such a good level for their country.


Piping win

OG Jamie Forrester (Patchell's 96-01) won the much coveted Captain John MacLellan Memorial Solo Piping overall Champion Piper


Robbie Coltrane

OG Robbie Coltrane (Patchell’s 63-68), star of Harry Potter films as Hogwarts’ gamekeeper and keeper of keys, Rubeus Hagrid, is about to star in a major new contemporary and hard-hitting drama on Channel 4.
