Glenalmond pupils achieve another set of outstanding GCSE grades and thrive in Stem related subjects and languages
Once again, our pupils have achieved outstanding GCSE grades - with an increased overall pass rate and 100% success across many subjects.
More than half of the girls and boys achieved overall A*- A grades, or the equivalent 7-9 where the new grading system applied. Meanwhile 25% of pupils received all A* and A grades, or equivalent, in every subject taken.
Our Warden, Elaine Logan, says of the results, “Another year of excellent grades show that Glenalmond consistently delivers well above average outcomes. We have achieved these results through small classes with inspirational teaching, outstanding extra-curricular opportunities, and the very best in pastoral care. I congratulate all of our pupils, staff and parents, it really has been a team effort."
Continued success in STEM related subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) confirm Glenalmond’s strong reputation in preparing pupils for a world of new opportunities.
The overall pass rate this year is up 0.5 percentage points on last year’s performance at 99.6%, with 100% pass rate in several subjects including: French, German, English Language, English Literature, Chemistry (Triple Award) and Computer Science where 71% achieved the equivalent of either A* or A grades after it was introduced to the school for the first time as a GCSE subject.
Ms Logan concludes: “The educational approach at Glenalmond is all about discovering and promoting the best in each child, finding their strengths and helping them to achieve their full potential. We look forward to welcoming the pupils back in September for Glenalmond’s popular Sixth Form and studying a wide range of Highers and A Levels.”
We send huge congratulations to all our GCSE candidates on their results.
