Glenalmond Parents Association Burns Supper a resounding success

David Fox-Pitt shares his memories of a fantastic evening at Glenalmond.

"Our first parents event was a great opportunity for parents, both prospective and current, to mingle, network and catch up. It was also wonderful to see Elaine Logan in such good form!

The Students were the stars of the evening and we were all astonished at the high calibre of acts, songs and talks. The Glenalmond Pipe Band were splendid and they captivated the audience en route to the Dining Hall with burning torches glowing in the background. A truly magical atmosphere and an evening most of us will never forget. The College must take a huge credit for instilling such a degree of high confidence and fun in the students. Any parent visiting the school for the first time would have been astonished!! The Captains of College led from the front and were there to the very end.

Burns Supper PA 4 Edit

The food was of the highest quality and Carl’s team were both efficient and polite throughout. Nothing was too much for Carl and head chef Ron and they went overboard to ensure the event ran smoothly.

The dancing back in the Recital Hall (where coffee and drinks were served) was also a huge success and the room was full of enthusiastic reelers who embraced the fun spirit and we finished promptly on time at midnight with Auld Lang Syne. The Ceilidh Band headed up by Henry and Emilia Wallace with Tim Ridley on drums were fantastic. What an amazing in house asset we have!

We are hugely indebted to an amazing Parents body. Without their drive and support we could not have pulled this off."
