Glenalmond pupils through to Poetry by Heart Scotland National Finals

Two Glenalmond pupils are through to Poetry by Heart Scotland finals with a "compelling" performance.
Tom M-U and Beatrice T recently represented Glenalmond College in the regional heats of the Poetry by Heart Scotland competition.

Having won the school heat in December, the puils went on to represent the school in the regional final at Dundee University where a winner and runner up go on to take part in the Scottish National Finals in March.

The contestants were judged by Andrew Roberts, Professor of Modern Literature at Dundee and Co-Director of the centre for Poetic Innovation at the Universities of Dundee and St Andrews; Heather Yeung, poet, critic and lecturer and Matthew Fellion, lecturer and author.

Last year, OG Hamish Halley made it to the finals. However, this year Coll will take two to the finals with Bea winning the heat and Tom taking the runner up spot. In the feedback the judges used the word "compelling" to describe both Bea and Tom’s performances and praised their ability to draw their audience in.
