Sixth Form Music Scholars, Angus G and Alex M, have been awarded DipABRSM for music performance.
We are very proud to announce that Lower Sixth Angus G (Skrine's) and Upper Sixth Alex M (Goodacre's) have been awarded their DipABRSM music performance diplomas.
Both pupils are skilled in mulitple instruments as well as voice performance, but Alex was awarded her diploma for the oboe, while Angus has been awarded his for the trombone, which he has been playing for 7 years. The diploma is a significant achievement, requiring demonstration of musical skills way in advance of Grade 8.
Audience members at our recent production of The Addams Family Musical will have experienced the vocal and dramatic talents of Angus and Alex as the fabulous Mr and Mrs Beineke, parents of Wednesday Addams' boyfriend, Lucas.
These are only the second and third DipABRSMs to be awarded to Glenalmond pupils within the past 10 years. Alex hopes to continue studying Music and has an offer to read Music at Cambridge University in September, read more about her offer. Angus, who completed his Grade 8 trombone exam at the end of 4th form, see's his musical ability continuing more as a hobby, through solo and orchestral performances in the future.
