Annual Glenalmond Steeplechase - The Results

Record Breaking Steeplechase

The annual Glenalmond Steeplechase brings virtually the whole School together on our golf course and this year was no different. Although the weather was not as bright as last year, we were lucky to have no snow on the ground and dry conditions for the race.

The Steeplechase inspires a huge sense of House Spirit amongst our pupils and staff alike, and we were delighted to once again see so many brightly coloured runners bringing the golf course to life with laughter, determination and good natured competitiveness.

Our race winners put on some excellent displays of cross country ability and even saw two new records set. The Junior Girls course record of 11:07 set by Rosie D in 2018, was broken by Third Former, Susie R who placed a time of 09:50. Rosie D, now in Fifth Form, also went on to break the Senior Girls record by over a minute.

Race winners:

Junior Girls - Susie R (09:50) New School Record
Junior Boys - Harris P (N/A)*
Senior Girls - Rosie D (15:49) New School Record
Senior Boys - Cameron S (18:33)

Showing that sport can bring unity, every competitor was cheered the whole way round the course and through the finish line regardless of their final position. Huge congratulations to all our racers and thank you to Ellie R and Emma W for their photography skills. View the photos here

*Harris P was the clear winner but ran the course twice, therefore we have no accurate time placed.
