The Glenalmond Skiers Compete in the British Schoolboys' and Schoolgirls' Races 2018
Boys Ski Team
The boy’s Ski Team has been training hard in Wengen for the British Schoolboys' International Races 2018. Coaching and race support is being provided by Impulse Racing, whose coaches have been taking them through their paces in slalom, giant slalom and finishing off with a dual slalom in preparation for the dual slalom competition this evening in the resort.
The serious competition starts with the GS on the famous Lauberhorn, where the World Cup was run a couple of weeks ago. On Wednesday the boys compete in the slalom before heading back to the UK on Thursday. The weather has been kind to the boys this year and the snow is in good condition setting the scene for some good racing.
Update: The boy’s ski team were entered into the U18 Dual Slalom in Wengen. They made it through to the second round despite half the team being U16.
Girls Ski Team
The girl's Ski Team has been training in Flaine, France this weekend for the British Schoolsgirls' Races 2018 which started today (Monday 29 January).
There were two Giant Slalom races today from 9am, with a parallel slalom set up and teams drawn afterwards. Tuesday will feature two races of Slalom which we anticipate will be held on the same piste.
