Fifth form pupil, Toby A, has secured his place in the Scotland U16 Blues Squad.
We are very proud to announce that Fifth Form pupil, Toby A (Patchell's), has successfully secured his place on the Scotland U16 Blues squad ahead of the Colwyn Bay Rugby Festival in April.
The Colwyn Bay Rugby Festival which is held at Eirias Park, North Wales, runs from 1 April to 11 April and aims to develop individual and team performance, with the players being assessed not only at this festival but at all of their previous training camps.
Scotland U16 is an important stage in the development of young, aspiring players, with three teams being formed from the selected players - the Reds (Edinburgh and Borders), the Blues (Caledonia and Glasgow) and the Greens ('exile' players).
Head of Rugby, Graham Smith, was delighted at the news. "All of us at Glenalmond are really proud of Toby. He has shown real dedication to the game and worked hard at both Caledonia regional training and School training sessions. I look forward to watching his progression in the sport, and for Scotland, continue."
Toby, who plays fullback for Glenalmond's U16A XV team, joins current pupils George B (Reid's) and Rafe H (Reid's) and OG Kaleem Barreto (2011-17, Goodacre's) in playing for his country, while OG Tom Galbraith (2009-14, Goodacre's) successfully secured a professional contract with Edinburgh Rugby.
