5th form Exam results

Pupils at Glenalmond College have collected their GCSE results, with English and modern languages the standout performers of the year.

Every pupil taking English Literature achieved a grade C or above, with almost a quarter awarded A* - more than double last year's figure. Half the cohort achieved A* or A in the subject.

Modern languages also performed strongly. In French, 81 per cent of pupils achieved grades A* to B, the College's best result in this measure for three years. In Spanish, 96 per cent achieved A* to C. English Language rose to 92 per cent at A* to C, up from 84 per cent in 2025.

Among the individual successes, Vivienne S achieved nine results at Grade A or equivalent and above.  Vivienne said: “I am now going to focus on settling into my A-levels and progress with the CCF, as I am hoping for a career with the RAF as a pilot. Shooting will also be a big part of my lower sixth year, and I hope to help the team improve and push forwards in the shooting world."

Glenalmond pupils Millie A, and Usher K also celebrated a set of strong results, achieving eight Grade As or above. Callie B, Hughie C and Bella R each achieved seven or above, while Faris A and Maisie M each achieved six Grade As or above.

Jenny Davey, Warden of Glenalmond College, said: "GCSEs are a foundation, not a finish line, and today our Fifth Form take the next step. This is a wonderful year group who have embraced all that Glenalmond has to offer and done so in style.  They are a year group who stand out for their leadership, kindness and enthusiasm for life, and I am so excited to see them spread their wings as they go into the Sixth Form. They now move with real choices in front of them: in the classroom, on the games field, and in the many things that make a Glenalmond education what it is. I hope they take hold of every one of those opportunities.

"My warmest congratulations to all the pupils receiving their results today and to the parents and family supporting them."

The results come ahead of a significant year for the College, which launches its entrepreneurship programme with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, in October - the first of its kind in the world - and its partnership with Chelsea FC.
