Bronze for Glenalmond Skier

Success at the Artemis British Interschool Ski Challenge 2019

On 15 March the Glenalmond College Ski Racing Squad departed for Italy to compete in the Artemis British Interschool Ski Challenge 2019. Unfortunately two of the party were unable to travel due to illness and injury but six boys and four girls set off for Pila.

Saturday was spent training for Giant Slalom and Sunday they moved on to the more technical discipline of slalom.  The weather was warm but the snow conditions were good providing some excellent training from our coach, Gary from Impulse Racing.

Race day brought colder conditions but almost perfect snow for the slalom.  Some good times were achieved but we had to wait for the Giant Slalom the following day for a podium finish by Fourth Form pupil, Amelie K (Goodacre's), who came third in the under sixteen age group and fifth overall in the girl's race.

Glenalmond College came 27th out of  the 110 schools and clubs competing in the British Interschools Ski Challenge 2019 which is a very credible achievement.
