Beyond the Classroom
Glenalmond College is a true boarding school. With 75% of our pupils being boarders, life at Glenalmond is about feeling at home. Whether conquering local munros and kayaking on the River Tay, trips to the theatre and V&A Dundee, or quiz nights, themed dinners and ceilidhs, no week is the same.
We believe in sport's value for a healthy lifestyle and teaching leadership and team-building skills. Excellent facilities and a passionate team of coaches come together to encourage pupils to reach their sporting potential.
All pupils at Glenalmond are part of a House-based tutor group and see their tutor three times each week. The academic tutor works closely with the pupil to support his or her progress and has an overview of the pupil's academic performance.
All pupils at Glenalmond spend one year in the CCF and they can elect to join one of three services - The Royal Navy, The Army or The Royal Air Force. The Cadet movement aims to develop such qualities as leadership, self-reliance, teamwork and good citizenship.
One of our many attributes is our ability to provide pupils with an experience that goes beyond the purely academic. As many of our alumni will testify, it is the life beyond the classroom that proves to be so valuable.
