CEO and Warden

From 1 January 2026, Timothy Bayley became the Warden of Glenalmond College, alongside his role as Chief Executive Officer of the Glenalmond Group UK, encompassing both Glenalmond College and Craigclowan School.

Tim joined the schools in October 2025 as Chief Executive Officer and, having worked closely with staff, pupils and governors, now assumes full executive responsibility. His appointment marks an important step in the continued development of the Glenalmond Group, bringing unified leadership, strategic clarity and a strong educational vision for the future.

Tim brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience across leading UK independent boarding schools and international British schools. His career includes roles at prominent HMC schools, including Repton School and Llandovery College, where he served as Head of Boarding, before moving into senior international leadership positions at British schools in Bangkok and Qatar. This breadth of experience gives him a deep understanding of boarding education, pastoral care, curriculum design and the demands of operating schools in both UK and global contexts.

Academically, Tim holds a Master’s degree in Education, a PGCE, and the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). He is also an ISI Inspector, providing extensive expertise in governance, compliance and best practice within the UK independent schools sector. This background ensures strong oversight of standards, safeguarding and inspection readiness, while supporting the schools’ continued alignment with the expectations of HMC membership.

Tim’s leadership combines strategic ambition with a clear commitment to pupil wellbeing, academic excellence, and the distinctive character of both Glenalmond College and Craigclowan. Working closely with staff and our board of directors, he is focused on building on each school’s strengths while guiding the Glenalmond Group confidently into its next chapter.
