Glenalmond College came together on Saturday, 4 July for Commem, our traditional end-of-year celebration of pupils, community and achievement.
The sun shone on the quad as pupils, parents, staff and alumni gathered for a day that combined prizegiving, reflection and farewell. Prizes were presented to pupils across all year groups, recognising excellence across a range of subjects.
We were delighted to welcome two exceptional guest speakers. OG Rob Wainwright OBE returned to the school where his journey began, a journey that took him from Glenalmond to Cambridge, 37 caps and the captaincy of Scotland, service as an Army doctor, and most recently an OBE for his charitable work, including years of fundraising for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.
He was joined by Alex Mejia, Senior Diplomat and Division Director at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), who brought a global perspective drawn from more than 25 years in international affairs and diplomacy, speaking to pupils about young leadership at the United Nations
The day closed with farewells to the Class of 2026, who leave Glenalmond as the College looks ahead to an extraordinary year including the launch of our pioneering entrepreneurship partnership with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and the continued growth of our partnership with Chelsea FC.
To all our pupils, families and staff: thank you for a wonderful year. To our leavers: Glenalmond will always be your home in the hills. And to everyone, we'll see you in September.
