Glenalmond College is delighted to be a finalist in the Performing Arts category of the Independent Schools of the Year Awards and we are looking forward to the Online Awards Ceremony this Thursday (Oct 7th) at 3pm.
We are thrilled with this fantastic recognition of our outstanding Theatre, Drama and Music provision at Glenalmond and the exceptional work of Mrs Moss (our Director of Theatre), Miss Hynd (our Head of Drama) and Dr Ridley (our Director of Music), and the many other staff who have gone the extra mile to support them over the past year – from music and sets to make-up and props.

A rarely-performed play which was first staged in London after an 18-month plague 400 years ago has been brought back to the stage by Glenalmond College.
Glenalmond is one of very few schools in the UK to stage a play in the midst of restrictions and allow pupils to experience fully a performance while adhering to COVID-safe measures.
The show - which will not be seen by a live audience - is Epicene, the 1609 Renaissance comedy by Ben Jonson.
The play was originally performed after a long period when London theatres were closed due to the plague, so the timing of its Glenalmond revival chimes keenly with the present day.
Glenalmond College’s production of ‘The Sound of Music’ was far from the twee tale of a singing nun that we might have been expecting!

Everyone’s favourite kooky family are now due on the Glenalmond stage from Thurs 30th Nov - Sun 3rd Dec at 7.30pm.
The Glenalmond College performance of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Perth Concert Hall was an outstanding occasion, delivering a show which went far beyond the expectations of the packed auditorium.
The senior musical is one of the highlights of the Glenalmond school year, and the first performances of Jesus Christ Superstar have confirmed that this year’s show is one of the most exciting and dramatic we have ever staged.
The 2015 Glenalmond school show, Cabaret, was an outstanding success, playing to full audiences after a packed preview show on Wednesday evening.
