Carly Booth Visits Glenalmond’s New Golf Hub

A decade after she left Glenalmond College, professional golfer Carly Booth returned to her old school this week to meet staff and pupils and hear about the school’s exciting future plans for golf. Carly, who won the Czech Ladies Open last year, spent time with pupils on the school’s stunning, snow-covered golf course before heading inside to view the brand new state-of-the-art golf hub. She said she was delighted to return to the Perthshire school, which will be showcasing its new golf facility to visitors at an Open Day on March 14th. The golf hub was developed as part of an ambitious, on-going programme of investment by Glenalmond, to ensure it continues to grow its reputation as a centre of excellence for learning and the exceptional range of activities, including golf, offered in its 300 acre campus.


OGGS success at Elie

During the weekend of 10-11 March 2018 the Old Glenalmond Golfing Society competed in (and won!) the Stenhouse Quaich, a round-robin scratch foursomes tournament held between the Scottish Wayfarers Schools (Glenalmond, Fettes, Merchiston, Loretto, Edinburgh Academy and Strathallan).


U18 US Kids European Golf Championships

Over half term Campbell G, our golf captain, was runner-up in the U18 US Kids European School Golf Championship’, which was played on The New Luffness course, East Lothian.


Pupils v OG's at Luffness GC, East Lothian

Pupils and OGs battled out a close fought game on Sunday, managing a last gasp win on the very last hole. Going down their last hole one down, Campbell G & Caspar K managed to win the 18th and so tie their game with Stephen Titterington and Euan Scott. In the second match, Cameron G and Tim H went down the last all square, but manged to squeeze home on the last green with a win and a 1 up score line against Harry Morgan and Mike Everett...


Glenalmond pupils awarded Gleneagles Golf Scholarship

Congratulations to Campbell G (Goodacre's) and Cameron G (P) who has been awarded a golf scholarships at the prestigious Gleneagles Golf Club. This is in recognition of Campbell's and Cameron's G hard work and performance during 2016 and to help with his development and progress for the 2017 season.


Golf: Glenalmond v Dollar

Glenalmond played a friendly game of golf ending with a draw against Dollar Academy. The match was played on the same course that hosted the Ryder Cup in 2014 so the players had a great time experiencing a world class course.
