Double Success in Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators

Glenalmond has enjoyed a double success in a prestigious competition run by The Queen’s College, Oxford University and this week our pupils were delighted to receive their award certificates. James SF (French) and Ellie A (Spanish) emerged as the top entries from Scotland in the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators.

Glenalmond Pupils Express Themselves Brilliantly In Lockdown

As part of the #ExpressYourselfInLockdown initiative launched on social media by the British Council, we invited our linguists to create a video or audio file in which they had to perform in French or Spanish. Our Head of Modern Languages, Dr Caroline Murie, described the excellent response of young Glenalmond Linguists to the challenge.

Higher Language Results 2018

Glenalmond College has achieved an outstanding 100% pass rate at grade C and above for language Highers after re-introducing the SQA qualifications into the curriculum as an option for all pupils for the first time since the turn of the century.
