Fantastic Glenalmond Review in Tatler Schools Guide 2022

The Tatler Schools Guide 2022, hot off the press, features the top prep and public schools in the UK. “There could be no finer place to spend one’s school days than amid the 300 acres of countryside at the gateway to the Highlands. “The atmosphere here is warm, vibrant and busy.... "Glenalmond sets pupils up for life…leavers depart their beloved Coll fuelled with the ambition and knowledge to make a valuable contribution to the world.” We are delighted with the review and extremely proud of our staff, our pupils and our school.


Double Success in Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators

Glenalmond has enjoyed a double success in a prestigious competition run by The Queen’s College, Oxford University and this week our pupils were delighted to receive their award certificates. James SF (French) and Ellie A (Spanish) emerged as the top entries from Scotland in the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators.


Former Pupil Wins Royal Geographical Society Prize

Congratulations to former pupil Jamie Arnaud (Reid's, 2012-17) who has just been announced as joint winner of the Historical Geography Research Group Undergraduate Dissertation Prize, run by the Royal Geographical Society. Jamie recently graduated from University of Cambridge with First Class Honours with Distinction (double-starred first).


International Travel Information Update

As we approach Half Term, we know that many parents will be keen to have the latest information on travel restrictions. While we continue to await specific guidance from the Scottish Government relating to the travel and return of pupils from overseas to boarding schools in Scotland, the general arrangements are looking positive from October 4.


A Weekend Full of Fun Activities

We are looking forward to a jam-packed weekend full of activities this weekend, including our traditional Sunday Funday. Our weekend will include a range of activities, all encouraging pupils to get into the house spirit, and will end with a BBQ supper on Sunday evening. Day pupils have been invited to stay overnight on Saturday to get involved in all the fun.


Exciting Times Ahead For Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme is an extra-curricular activity offered at Glenalmond which encourages pupils to go the extra mile. We are delighted that DofE at Glenalmond will now be run by Dr Sean Wilkinson, our Head of Chemistry.


Tasty Welcome Back Menu for Pupils

Our catering team put on a lovely welcome back lunch menu for pupils today, including fish and chips! Today’s menu features fish and chips, macaroni and cheese, and pea risotto.


Friendly Glenalmond Bus Drivers

Our friendly minibus drivers are delighted to be getting out on the road again this week. This includes David Millar who shares why he loves his job in a short interview now on our YouTube channel.


Talk Education Top Schools

We are delighted to announce that Glenalmond has pride of place as one of Talk Education’s Top 250 Prep and Senior Schools in the UK. The list – identifying Glenalmond in the top ranks of independent schools in the UK – has just been unveiled after months of deliberation.


Beautiful Chapel Flowers

Thank you to Mrs Alderson who has brought a beautiful arrangement of sunflowers into our lovely Chapel. How wonderful to have this beautiful welcome back for everyone to enjoy this week.


Welcome Back to Mr Willington

It was wonderful to welcome former member of staff, David Willington, back to Coll. Mr Willington worked at Glenalmond from April 1973 to July 2006 – 100 terms!


Apex Rugby Camps at Glenalmond

We were delighted to welcome the Apex Rugby Academy team to our beautiful school to launch the dates for the October Rugby Camp being held at Glenalmond.


OGs Named in Super6 Team of the Week

Scottish Rugby’s Super6 league kicked off its new season last weekend with two former Glenalmond pupils - Kaleem Barreto and George Breese - selected in The Offside Line team of the week.
