There is a new energy at Glenalmond College, and this year’s A-Level results reflect that momentum, showing clear progress in our A-Level results. The overall pass rate has risen, demonstrating the hard work and determination of our pupils and staff. For the third consecutive year, the number of pupils achieving the top A* grade has increased. We have also seen a rise in the number of pupils securing A grades, continuing a remarkable five-year upward trend.

This year’s leavers are heading to a wide range of exciting destinations, with 45% securing places at prestigious Russell Group universities. An impressive 15% of our leavers accepted offers from St. Andrew’s University, the top university in Scotland according to the Complete University Guide and fourth in the UK. In addition, 87% of Glenalmond leavers this year have been accepted into their first choice of university.

Their chosen courses showcase the breadth of ambition and talent at Glenalmond, ranging from Biology, Chinese, Countryside Management, Earth Science and Modern Languages to two pupils embarking on Medicine degrees at St Andrews and Dundee.

A number of our pupils have achieved impressive results including our outgoing Captain of Coll, Oli R, who achieved two A* and an A. Fellow 2025 Glenalmond graduate, Freya F achieved two A* and two A grades and is off to study Classics at St. Andrews and Ellis J obtained two A* and an A. Isabel H achieved one A* and two As and is going to be studying French and Music in Glasgow.

A very special mention goes to Nadia S, who achieved two A* grades and an A and whose exceptional work earned her recognition as one of the top performers in the UK in OCR’s A Level Art and Design: Fine Art – an extraordinary achievement from one of the country’s leading awarding bodies.

Alongside A-Levels, Glenalmond offers a variety of academic pathways. Our BTEC pupils have also achieved superb results, with all candidates passing and 66% obtaining a merit.

Lucy Elphinstone, Warden of Glenalmond College and Executive Principal of the Glenalmond Schools Group, said: “The significant improvement once again this year shows that Glenalmond pupils have an abundance of talent, ability and determination. Congratulations to all our pupils on their achievements. We are incredibly proud of their determination, ambition, and the exciting futures which now await them.”
